Help save the environment from plastic waste - join our working bee to make reusable Boomerang Bags!
We need volunteers to
- and FABRIC donations!
If you like, let us know you are coming on the event Facebook page.
Boomerang Bags are being provided for free to businesses and shoppers in Hamilton to help end plastic bag use and encourage more conscious shopping. The bags can be borrowed and returned to participating stores or kept and reused elsewhere.
Bags are made from donated materials by volunteers and this is where you can help!
Join our working bee and cut, iron or sew bags. Sewing skills are not essential and you can stay for as long as you are able.
If you would like to donate fabric to the cause, please drop it to the Waikato Environment Centre or bring it along with you. We need fabrics such as linen and sturdy cottons e.g. duvet covers, curtains.
All welcome, bring friends and family who would like to pitch in. It's a fun few hours!
This working bee is being organised by Plastic bag free Hamilton East and the Waikato Environment Centre.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!
